Note from the Founder
As many of you know So Big was founded out of a gratitude for Jesus' love and sacrifice. Through our relationship with Christ, we have come to know that children are a gift from God to be treasured and cared for in a loving manner. Therefore, we have created a movement to help provide resources and transitional living for expectant women in need of support during and after their pregnancy. On this journey to serve women and children, we continue to hit delays, causing us to step back and reevaluate where we are going. As we look for solutions, God takes us back to our most effective tool, prayer. We know that God could do all of this without us, but in his grace he has offered to include us and we are humbled and grateful.
We have come to understand that God's greatest desire is for us to have a relationship with Him. Reading the Bible is an incredible tool in developing that connection with Him. As a result, we have created a 40 day devotional plan that seeks out God's heart for women and children in need. We have listed the themes for each week and we have prayerfully chosen scripture that speaks to each week. The written prayer for each day then prays back the scripture. For in his love for us, God teaches us how to pray through His word. Using these devotions as a guide, we want to set aside time to know God more fully and allow Him to work through us.
Please join us in praying as we step into the waters and get our feet wet. We know at times it won't be easy but God will be there. He has promised to never forsake us and our hope is in Him. Psalm 91 is a source of encouragement and strength for us as we strive to walk daily with Him. And so, I end this introduction by sharing His word with you.
Psalm 91
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.' Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness with be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling-even the Lord who is my refuge- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 'Because he loves me,' says the Lord, 'I will rescue him; I will protect him for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.'"
My prayer is that in joining us, you will draw closer to Him as you step into the water He has placed in your path.
God's Peace,
